Meaning of Christmas ~ Peace on Earth /Bible Verses*

Your hope will not be cut off!

How glorious the night that shone as bright as day. When heaven kissed earth and the Prince of Peace was born.  A simple cry was His first breath, but it  confirmed what angels knew, what prophets  foretold, and the universe beheld.

Emmanuel!

For unto you is born,

A Savior!

There was no hope of peace on earth before His birth, just as there is none today
in the life of those without God’s saving grace.

The birth of Jesus, our Savior gave earth hope to acquire peace with our creator. His life set an example of how our lives should be lived in peace with God and men. Peace not just for a season, but as a way to live.  Peace and reconciliation are now available to all because Jesus paid our debt.   *For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16*

May we be ambassadors of peace. May we announce  to all that reconciliation with God is possible through Christ!

Can we enjoy peace in our lives in the midst of the world’s crises?

Yes!!! Emmanuel!  God is with us!

Peace is with us!

The story of the birth of Jesus, as told in the Bible can be found in the books of  Matthew 1:18 – 2:23 and  –Luke 1:26 – 2:40 .

Thanks Anne and Merry Christmas to you too! Best wishes for 2012. May it be full of adventures in Christ. 🙂

  2. Exactly how much the prophets of old and even the angels of Heaven knew about God’s full plan of salvation has been an interesting thought to me.

Although it’s not about the birth of Jesus, Peter does say something about Jesus’ death and the knowledge of others (prophets/angels) when he said, “searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into.” 1 Peter 1:11-13

As always, neat little pictures to go with your post.

I don’t think any had the complete picture, but each one a part of the puzzle that God reveal through them. Each year I see more and more the goodness of God and how His plans and purposes are complex to our understanding at times. We don’t always get to see it all or are able to comprehend it all either. The cool thing is that we don’t need to. He reveals what we need to know and paves the way for us to walk. We just need to stay in His hands and things always work out. I rely on Him and take one step at the time even when I do not see the whole picture. I can trust Him with my times – past, present and future. Thanks for the visit!
